As the QHSE Manager, you'll be based at our Hamilton depot, working within a collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued and your contributions appreciated. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert health and safety advice to department heads, guiding them towards best practices and compliance.
Stay abreast of legislative changes and company requirements, adapting policies and procedures accordingly.
Conduct comprehensive safety orientations for new employees.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for existing policies and procedures, ensuring they evolve with our business needs.
Implement robust risk management processes and maintain a comprehensive suite of risk assessments.
Develop and refine our Health and Safety Management System in alignment with ISO45001 standards.
Oversee plant and equipment certification, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, and COSHH control to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct internal safety audits to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
Carry out quality and compliance checks on works during execution.
Manage QHSE processes and procedures to uphold company standards and accreditations.
Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.
Required Experience/Skills:
NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent in Health & Safety Management.
Previous experience as a health, safety, and environmental practitioner.
Ability to effectively advise senior stakeholders and motivate teams towards safe practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities.
Proficient in planning, prioritizing, and multitasking.
Good computer literacy for report writing and data analysis.
Experience in risk management, inspections, and audits.
Preferred experience within the railway engineering environment.
